  TC88 Engine Light Kit

NOW FITS BOTH STANDARD AND STAGE 1 AIR CLEANER

One version for bikes with the plastic box, one for bikes without


This kit fits TC88 Harleys with the Oval air filter and standard horn. There are two versions, One is designed to fit when the plastic air box is still fitted, the other when it has been removed as part of the Stage I upgrade. Please tell us which you require

The design is unique in these ways

  1. the kit is specifically designed for the TC88
  2. six of the LEDs on the Horn side are flat topped giving a wide beam
  3. six of the LEDs on the Air Cleaner side are flat topped giving a wide beam
  4. two of the LEDs on Air Cleaner side aim downward to light the lower part of the engine

Why Plastic Mouldings ?.. why not just put them in heat shrink like the other manufacturers ? 

Three reasons,

  1. Installation on the Stage 1 requires a quick wipe with cleaner round the inside of the air cleaner or horn cover, peel of the backing and stick them on. Wire them to a switch and job done ...  couldn't be easier.
  2. Installation on the standard plastic box backed air cleaner requires a 6 mm (1/4") drill
  3. The positioning of the LEDs for the best effect is all done for you
  4. The moulding shields most of the spurious light....  you see what the LED is illuminating... not the LED itself
  5. The mouldings incorporate cable clips that firmly hold the connecting cables out of the way

Why Flat topped LED's ?

After countless experiments we couldn't get away from the fact that ordinary LEDs are like mini spotlights with a very narrow beam..   that's fine if you can mount them away from the bike but its just not possible in practice...  What we needed were LEDs that had a beam more like a floodlight...   the flat top does this, the light comes out with a much wider beam than normal giving illumination over a much wider area.
