External Module Converts Voltage to Current to drive RVI tachometers

If your classic car has had electronic ignition fitted, the tacho is misbehaving but otherwise is in good condition, or you don't want to upgrade the internals, this will solve the problem.

The module is voltage driven and can be driven from electronic ignition or from the coil -ve

The module outputs current pulses suitable to drive an RVI tachometer.

Less than 1W at peak rpm.

Five conections (by internal screw terminal block)

+12V

Signal in

Tachometer trigger coil 1

Tachometer trigger coil 2

The module is designed to work on negative earth and has not been tested on positive earth tachometers.

Note, 1

to cover as many tacho inputs as possible there are two options for signal input voltage

to clarify how these are used depending on your set-up

if you have a tacho output. from an ECU or ignition module, the low voltage input should be used.

if you are connecting to the -ve of the coil, select the high voltage input
